Saturday Service Project for Our Troops

Hello Pack 536!

I want to thank all of our Akelas for both your help and participation in all our past Pack activities. I would like to think that everything we do is fun and games but sometimes a little work is needed.

This Saturday is our opportunity to not only have some fun but show our boys that giving back to our community is part of being a community.

This Saturday at 9:00 am, Westminster Presbyterian Church is holding their annual Stocking Project.

For you new scouts, the folks at the Church have been sewing, by hand, stockings and have gathered some goodies to add to those stocking, including thousands of hand written Christmas cards with words of thanks and encouragement for our Troops overseas.

If you and your scout are able, please make this event a priority. This not only shows our young boys the act of giving back but also lets our charter organization, Westminster, know that we here to help when need. This is also our opportunity to say “Thanks” to Westminster as well.

Please note, this is a Class A uniform activity. Please be in full uniform, neckerchiefs neat, shirt tucked in and a smile on your face.

For all Scouts in attendance, FREE PIZZA for the scouts and their siblings for lunch after the Stocking Stuff!

Kids love pizza and in the past the guys over at Dion’s on University Avenue have been very gracious to offer some special pricing on food and drink for our Scouts as well as a large portion of the restaurant to have to ourselves.

To offset some of the cost you Akela’s will be $3 ea. If you want a salad, (snicker), you will need to take care of that on your own.

So, if you know for sure you are going to come in from the cold on Saturday and stuff some stockings please RSVP. This will give the guys at Dion’s a rough idea for the number of Pizzas to prep for lunch.

Thanks again for helping your boys,

Brian Spallholz
